Briefly in English

Editor’s note: The language of this website is Finnish. The purpose of this page is to give a non-Finnish reader a brief glimpse of what we’re about and to provide links into certain pages. Although those pages are still in Finnish, I hope this makes it easier to find the essential information. Wing Tsun kungfu is a Chinese boxing system, meaning we punch a lot. We also kick, sweep and stomp aiming to punch freely. We punch with fists, elbows and forearms. Due this nature, we tend to be very close at the opponent.

Despite being kungfu, we don’t fly, pose as animals, shoot flaming chi-balls or make funny noises. WT is most probably nothing you see in movies. Even the flick Wing Chun doesn’t really have much wing in it. This doesn’t look cool and amazing nor is there any sport competitions.

We practice in Shaolin Dojo (address and schedule) and there are three lessons per week for adults and one lesson for juniors (10-15 years). Both beginners and advanced students practice in the same class and every one gets help from their more-experienced class-mate. The teacher tries to get hands-on with every student on every lesson, so the learning curve is very individual. Also private and special-group lessons are available. See prices.

We’re part of Wing Tsun Scandinavia and we have sister-schools in Helsinki and Ylivieska and a training-group in Oulainen. We welcome all people from any familytree or lineage. We take newcomes in on the first Wednesday of every month. Just give me a warning ring or email beforehand.

Hopefully I made a simple but breaf explanation. Should you have any more questions, feel free to contact me.
